E rilancia, parola del presidente Ferdinando Minucci che ha chiuso definitivamente la stagione 2008/09 annunciando il rinnovo contrattuale con Shaun Stonerook, destinato a rimanere in biancoverde fino al 2012 (prolungamento biennale sull’accordo in scadenza tra dodici mesi).
Per parola dello stesso Minucci non sarà l’unica conferma: «Quest’anno, ancor più che nel passato, abbiamo tante richieste per i nostri giocatori. Le valuteremo – ha detto il dirigente senese -, ma faremo anche noi il punto su quale squadra allestire per il futuro. Ho una mia idea, Pianigiani ha la sua ed è quella di continuare con questo gruppo: insieme prenderemo le decisioni sul prossimo roster».
